Description of Project Assignment for NC students

International Collaborative Literature Project

This is a cooperative learning project that will be done in conjunction with the Lower Canada College in Montreal Canada. We will be working with the story The Name by Aharon Megged. I have chosen this story because it depicts certain elements of our culture and is very popular and read by many. There are also many ways to analyze this story and leaves much to the reader to interpret its themes.

Below are the details:

You will work in pairs to complete the following project. Each group may choose one of the items listed below. Please come to me as soon as possible with the name of the girl you are paired with and which project you have selected.

Once the project is polished and graded it will be placed on the website to be shown to our partnering school, The Lower Canada College in Montreal. In turn they will be working on a story that they feel depicts elements of their culture and will display it on a web site for us to see. We will be reading that story in class. Both schools will then have the opportunity to comment on the websites and will benefit by getting a deeper insight an understanding of the others culture.

Project Requirements:

• Project must have a cover page, table of contents, an overview of the author or authors, a bibliography, and reflection.

• An initial draft will be handed into the teacher. It is then expected that the students will correct the mistakes and hand back the final corrected project.

• The paper must have 400-500 words with 2.5 cm margin on all sides, Arial 12 pt font, double-spaced, and numbered pages.

• There must be at least 3-4 sources from books, encyclopedias or the internet.
